Organ Donation
|
Organ donation is the donation of an organ or body tissue from a deceased donor
to a live recipient. First, a determination has to be made based on the deceased’s
medical history as to whether the organs or tissue at hand are usable for
transplantation. If they are, and if it is legally feasible, we can arrange and
facilitate the donation of organs.

Donation for Scientific Study
|
Human bodies are used to teach students, doctors and other healthcare professionals
about the workings of the human body. The decision to donate one’s body to science
must be done prior to death by the person wishing to donate. In the state of Illinois,
one must choose the institution that will be receiving his or her body, such as
Northern Illinois University or the Anatomical Gift Association, and fill out the
required paperwork. Then, one must notify the next of kin, as they are responsible
for arranging with us to have your remains shipped to the organization of his or her
choice.
